It Is Important to Know Your Rights

Having to deal with the stress of an accident or collision is difficult enough without trying to figure out how your insurance works. Below we have provided some answers to frequently asked questions about insurance policies.

Q. Will my insurance company guarantee your work?

A. We do guarantee our work, but the insurance company doesn’t have the legal right to guarantee a third party’s work.

Q. Who pays for the repairs?

A. We are happy to help you with this entire process. It will depend on the circumstances. If you are at fault, and have collision or comprehensive insurance, the insurance company will pay the costs minus your deductible and, in most cases, we are able to waive that deductible. If the other party was at fault, their insurance provider should pay.

Q. Can I get a rental car?

A. If your policy includes rental car coverage and you were not responsible for the accident, you can seek reimbursement from the insurance company. If the other driver was responsible for the accident, you can seek reimbursement from their insurance company. If you do not have rental car coverage and you were responsible, you are not entitled to reimbursement. The good news is that we can provide free rental cars in most cases.

Q. Do I have to accept the insurance company’s damage appraisal?

A. No. You can check the “Appraisal Clause” in your policy if you have problems with their appraisal. This will allow you and the insurance provider to get an opinion from an appraiser you both agree upon if you cannot agree.
